現代人重視牙齒,但若是有歪嘴、暴牙問題,該如何治療呢?微型骨釘臨時植體(TAD)的骨性錨定,可以免除病患配帶口外裝置的麻煩,也使齒顎矯正治療操作簡化。
臨床齒顎矯正治療時常使用口外頭套,或口內裝置增強錨定(anchorage)。自從微型骨釘臨時植體技術問世後,類似歪嘴、暴牙、嘴巴無法閉合等齒顎矯正問題,皆可採用此技術。
在臨床上,需齒顎矯正時,齒列前突與嚴重擁擠的異常咬合,常需設計最強的後牙錨定,藉以後退前牙改善前突臉型或解除齒列擁擠。過去,頭套口外力是獲得後牙強大錨定的常用方法,但其錨定效果須依賴病患配合治療效果不佳,只要是於晚間睡覺時不配戴,其療效會打折的。
微型骨釘臨時植體,易植入或移除,較少不適,在局部浸潤麻醉下,可直接植入齒槽骨內,不需牙齦翻瓣。且微型骨釘取出也簡單,不需局部麻醉,將其反方向旋出即可。
