這是一位生長期的國一學生,深咬(deep
bite),叢生(crowding)牙列擁擠的案例
   

配合咬合導板(bite plate)的作用,與open coil
spring(開擴性彈簧)的撐開,逐步使左上2進入牙列當中
   

當然有配合使用A.R.T來做前牙的torque(轉矩),使切牙的角度站得更好,下顎也在咬合逐步打開下黏上矯正器排列整齊中
   

這是剛去除矯正器(debonding&debanding)所拍的圖像,雖然看似中線不對,但這是病人未好好咬著照下的圖,整體咬合是穩定的,從最上圖與此圖的改變,病人很顯著在咬合上變化多了
   

此圖顯示的是咬板在口內的情形,進食時必需移除,吃完後再戴上,其鉤的設計是採行ball
clasp(球型固位),較不會干擾咬合

Q)After full banding,
can we give the patient a bite plane until an
anterior crossbite is corrected, or is it OK just to let the braces move the
teeth?

Answer:
In general terms, a bite plane will, because it eliminates interferences, allow the teeth to move more
quickly. In my experience, patients in braces don't wear bite planes very well.
(戴矯正器的病人,通常不會好好戴用BITE PLANE)The teeth move a little, and, as a result,
the bite plane doesn't fit.

That being said, a lot
of orthodontists use bite planes. I prefer to open the bite
by bonding composite to the occlusal surface of the lower molars(這就是俗稱的bite
turbo) The bonding can be done quickly, it is not removable by the
patient, and it is easily removed by the doctor after the occlusion improves.

Kids
tolerate the change in occlusion well, but adults hate it. So I'm a bit
more discriminating (區別)when I'm considering this on adult patients.(成人較恨bite turbo,但小孩則較不會,他們較能忍受)
