@mental nerve & mental foramen(頦孔)
這是神經元的傳導,神經元可分為樹突(dendrite)與軸突(axon),這是神經元的基本單位,也就是一個神經感受體的基本架構
三叉神經(trigeminal nerve)的基本分配如→三叉神經 ,它的下顎支,會分支為下齒槽神經(inferior alveolar nerve)與舌神經(lingual nerve),下齒槽神經最後會有一支從mental foramen出來,這一個孔,稱為mental foramen(頦孔),如圖→mental foramen ,其位置恰好位於下顎小臼齒的牙根附近,所以在打骨釘的時候,這個位置一定要避開,再看一次圖示→mental foramen

@posterior crossbite(後牙錯咬)的改正
The upper teeth should fit outside the lower teeth like a lid on a box. If the upper jaw is too narrow, the lower jaw usually swings to one side to allow the back teeth to mesh. A posterior cross-bite results.(上顎通常會在下顎的外側面,像盒子的蓋子一樣,假如上顎是太過窄,則下顎通常會擺動到一側,好讓後牙段的牙齒囓合,這就形成後牙的錯咬)
Posterior cross-bites can result in uneven wear of the teeth and can place extra strain on the jaw joint resulting in tempero-mandibular joint problems.(後牙錯咬可以造成牙齒的不平均磨耗,也會產生過多的顎關節壓力,這也是TMJ問題的形成因素之一)
