矯正治療不必再戴頭套

現代人重視牙齒，但若是有歪嘴、暴牙問題，該如何治療呢？微型骨釘臨時植體(TAD)的骨性錨定，可以免除病患配帶口外裝置的麻煩，也使齒顎矯正治療操作簡化。

臨床齒顎矯正治療時常使用口外頭套，或口內裝置增強錨定(anchorage)。自從微型骨釘臨時植體技術問世後，類似歪嘴、暴牙、嘴巴無法閉合等齒顎矯正問題，皆可採用此技術。

在臨床上，需齒顎矯正時，齒列前突與嚴重擁擠的異常咬合，常需設計最強的後牙錨定，藉以後退前牙改善前突臉型或解除齒列擁擠。過去，頭套口外力是獲得後牙強大錨定的常用方法，但其錨定效果須依賴病患配合治療效果不佳,只要是於晚間睡覺時不配戴,其療效會打折的。

微型骨釘臨時植體，易植入或移除，較少不適，在局部浸潤麻醉下，可直接植入齒槽骨內，不需牙齦翻瓣。且微型骨釘取出也簡單，不需局部麻醉，將其反方向旋出即可。

FDA-approved Aarhus Mini-Implant, developed by Dr. Birte Melsen, features a
solid head and a tapered shape to minimize the risk of fracture, according to
the manufacturer. The titanium implants and transmucosal necks are available in
a variety of lengths, with either a bracket-like head or a button for attaching
auxiliaries. A starter kit includes five cross-head and five button-head
implants and a special screwdriver.
