What have we learned about resorption caused by treatment?

root resorption comes in 3 forms:

1)moderate generalized resorption

the subject of most recent papers, an evitable comsequence of treatment,not related to any major factor,are some patient more susceptable to root resorption,why?

increased resorption?

diminished repair?

2)severe generalized resorption

probably not related to orthodontics    can occur in the absence of treatmentcause totally unknown not thyroid deficency(!)

3)severe localized resorption

definitely related to orthodontics,maxillary incisors at particular risk,major cause identified
