bolton ratio最主要的是利用下顎的第一大臼齒近心起始,連到另一側第一大臼齒近心,計算個別牙齒的近遠心徑,得到總和相加,以下顎6-6 12顆牙為分子,以上顎6-6 12顆牙為分母,相除之後得到的百分比,就是全牙比,其次,利用3-3,也可以得到前牙比,,這樣的計算過程,可以得到案例是否需拔牙的可能性,與術後對牙列外型的影響
